Tools for Mens Sheds A4
Here is an offer from a supplier of metal working tools. (copied from e-mail to Donald Pettitt, the guy currently maintaining this site)
Hello Donald,
Thanks for your email and for putting us on the NZ blog.
We had a display of these tools at the recent Australian National Men’s Shed conference held in Brisbane this year and had an awful lot of interest in them.
If you or any of your local colleagues happened to be there (as I know there were a couple of NZ delegates) you may have seen us?
We are fairly well known to AMSA here if you wanted someones opinion about what we have to offer.
For anyone who is maybe interested in some of this equipment for their workshop, don’t hesitate to contact me.
Seeing our DVD is the best way to appreciate what these tools have to offer -I can either send you a couple to hand around, or send one to anyone who is after one.
I look forward to hearing from you again soon.
Best Regards
Greg Cowie

The attached flyer is the current pamphlet for the Canterbury area. Check the specific shed as it is only one month old but already a bit out of date.

The file below is a draft philosophy for a Menz Shed based on the Oxford Menz Shed and under current discussion by the New Brighton Menz Shed. The aim is to have clarity of purpose, and a relevant indicator of the foundations of the shed to funders, community members and members of the shed.

Used by the Kaiapoi Menz Shed and designed by the Canterbury Men’s Centre. You are welcome to modify it to use for your own menz shed meeting (approx 3 meg in size).

A sample of the deed used by the New Brighton Menz Shed, derived from the Oxford Menz Shed is attached. It is done in Microsoft Word, and you can use edit/replace functions to change OUR Menz Shed to you you name quite handily. Thanks for sharing that guys! New Brighton Menz Shed Trust Deed 2
PS Feedback is, it can be a lot easier to just work inside an existing trust structure if you’ve got a local agency that has the skills and interest. The shed would be a committee inside that organisation, accountable to it to some degree.
